Yessssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-no school tomorrow if it snows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I had physics, chemistry, maths, music and french. French is cool because we get sweets of our teacher. Two weeks monday we are having our french  party. Our teachers bringing chocolates and we can bring party food. Also we get to watch a DVD. And NOOOOOOOOOOOO homework!!!!!!!!.Yesssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!.

In chemistry we’re doing chromotography which means seporating colours to get other colours out of them.

At the moment in music we are learning the flintstones.

Tomorrow…………if we go to school we’ll have french, history, D.T, I.T and English. In english we are doing the public speaking competition. In this we have to give a 3-5 minute speech on a choice of subjects that the teacher gave us. When every had done their speech we had to pick two semi-finalists. I wasn’t chosen. The two people we chose had to perform their speech again and the two we chose have gone through to the final.

cross country

October 29, 2008

On the last day before half term we had a massive cross country race. It was 1 and a half laps of the school grounds. It was extremely tireing but I came 15th out of the whole of year 7-90 children.

My Day- Wednesday 1st October

October 1, 2008

The bus journey was great because I chatted to my new friends on the way.

The first lesson was physics, in that we did an experiment about finding the mass of a marble. We had to measure the weight of the container first then put the marbles in  and weigh them. Last lesson we did an experiment on a pendulum and had to find the time for 20 oscillations and then 1 oscillation.

After physics it was break time, at break you can do lots of things. You can play football, tig and hide and seek and many other things. Most of the big ones play hand and feet tennis.

Our second lesson was Chemistry where we looked at liquids, solids and gases. At the end we watched the teacher use a Bunsen Burner, that was interesting. I can’t wait for the next lesson though because we’re going to use one ourselves.

Our third lesson was maths…..yes maths. In that we learnt various things about quadrilaterals like their properties and how to find the area of different quadrilaterals.

FINALLY LUNCHTIME ARRIVED. Lunchtime is great. At lunch you can do all the things that you do at break time and more. You can read in the library or go on the COMPUTERS in there. Also there are clubs like chess club.

After lunch was music. In music the teacher plays the piano and we sing along. Some weeks we play instruments ourselves and learn different signs.

The last lesson of the day was french. In french we were given sweets in the first few lessons but now you have to work hard or answer a difficult question to get them.Today we learnt numbers up to 100 and other ones like 200,1000, 10000 and 1000000.

Now it is time to get home and do homework.

Homework

September 13, 2008

Hi, I’m Jacob Smith and I’ve just started in Camp Hill Boys. I was a bit worried about the homework when I started but I feel a lot better about it now. I feel a lot better about it now because the form tutor gives you a planner so you can write down what  you have to do so you don’t forget. Also they give you a homework timetable so you know exactly what homework you’re going to get and when you’re going to get it.

These are the pieces that we’ve had so far:

Friday- Nothing

Monday- D.T.(5 questions about safety) French (Make a label) English (6 words with meanings)

Tuesday- Nothing

Wednesday- Chemistry (Learn symbols) Biology (Read chapter of book and answer 4 questions)

Thursday- French (Learn phonetic alphabet) Physics (Copy a chart into your book)

Friday- Maths (Do a question out an exercise book) R.E. (Draw or do on the computer a pie chart and bar chart) English (Read a book and write a newspaper report)

Some pieces are really quick to do but the others only take 15-30 minutes.
